"I don’t give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!"

The speech Bush made today

He made it a point to explain why federalized heath care is not the right thing to do(Sicko!), and how the Iraq war is protecting us against the terrorists, among other things. I found it quite interesting that during the speech, CNN kept cutting to another story. Apparently, an airport was being evacuated, because someone went through the security exit, instead of the entrance. They had no idea where this person went, despite the high security. Then, shortly after the speech, Times Square in NYC was being evacuated, because of a possible bomb. Has anyone else noticed, that whenever Bush talks about why we must fight terrorists and terrorist countries, in spite of controversy in the ranks, that there is some kind of domestic, terrorism-seeming event in close proximity?

In order to subjugate an entire people, you must convince them that they are under threat of constant harm from outside forces. Then they will gladly relinquish their civil liberties. It happened in Nazi Germany, and many, many times previously.

All hail King George!!!
