"I don’t give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!"

Bush calls for $145 billion economy plan - Yahoo! News

Bush calls for $145 billion economy plan - Yahoo! News: "'Letting Americans keep more of their money should increase consumer spending,' he said.

Bush said that Congress should work as soon as possible to send him legislation to 'keep our economy growing and creating jobs.'"

Yes, spend more Americans, go further into debt, because that is the only problem, we are not spending enough. Let's forget about the fact that we no longer manufacture the majority of the items we consume, thus there are fewer decent jobs in America, and decreasing pay rates. Isn't spending more than we make a huge part of the problem here?

I still laugh that on 9/11, one of Bush's major pieces of advice was also to keep spending.
