"I don’t give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!"

toledoblade.com -- British mortgage bank's customers ignore appeals for calm, line up to withdraw savings

toledoblade.com -- British mortgage bank's customers ignore appeals for calm, line up to withdraw savings: "Hundreds of customers lined up to withdraw their savings from a British mortgage bank Saturday, ignoring government assurances that their money was safe despite the bank's request for an emergency loan.

Police were called in some cities to steer panicked crowds away as Northern Rock bank branches closed for the day.

Fears have spread over the bank's request earlier in the week for an emergency Bank of England loan amid the global credit crisis. Northern Rock, Britain's fifth-largest mortgage lender, is the first British bank in 15 years to be bailed out by regulators.

Customers withdrew $2 billion from the bank Friday, The Financial Times reported, citing an unidentified person described as close to the situation. The bank declined to confirm the figure, which represents 4 percent of its deposit base."

Oops, another bank run that is fallout from the sub-prime crisis, but this time it is in Britain...

China Threatens War Escalation Over Bush Handshake

China Threatens War Escalation Over Bush Handshake: "In a headline story that aired at 10pm Shanghai time Wednesday night on the Hong Kong based PHTV news channel, Chinese government leaders threatened to plan new war games and heighten military readiness in anticipation of any attempt by the U.S. to defend Taiwan should a Chinese invasion occur, or simply if Taiwan declares its independence."

China is slowly turning its back on us, and that could easily lead to the collapse of our economy, simply because they own most of our debt. Every time you buy a product that says "made in China" on it, think about the consequences.

The United States dollar is facing imminent collapse in the face of an unsustainable debt, the United Nations warned today.

United States debt, which had now deepened to well over $3 trillion, might turn out to be unsustainable in the rest of 2007 or next, putting further downward pressure on the United States dollar, Rob Vos, the Director of the Development Policy and Analysis Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), told correspondents at a Headquarters press conference."

Don't worry, we will take over Iran to switch their oil back into US dollar valuations, to raise our dollar back up. We are also pressuring Iraq to privatize their oil. That means that multinational corporations will get control, and their profits will also help to prop up the US dollar.
